Fine You Freaks, Here You Go – Access to my Heathen Thoughts

I delayed this day for obvious reasons, but I am feeling stale in the FIRE realm. Today, I am finally ready to branch out a bit more and flex some heathen blogging muscles.

Irminsul, the great Pillar.

I have always had a separate private blog for my heathen religious practices. I kept them apart because I did not see why those 2 worlds would ever need to be in contact with each other.

But alas my barriers and excuses have been waning of late and I decided to just open a portal and say Come What May.

If you were ever interested in what all this pagan hullabaloo was about, maybe you will find something interesting at;

Happy Spelunking!

The Old Gods

Oft times used as an insult by Christians against people who don’t worship their god. They tend to confuse Atheism, Paganism and Heathenism. Atheism is of course a lack of belief in any gods. Paganism is an umbrella term for many polytheistic non-Abrahamic religions. Whereas a heathen is one who practices the pre-Christian religion of the ancient Germanic people. They worship the Germanic and Norse gods and goddess’.

I actually contemplated stopping this blog a few months back. It seemed to me that FIRE blogs had posted everything meaningful that could be said. That is when I decided to expand in some new directions. I have always enjoyed posting about Prepping and now about my version of Paganism. This blew some new life into OthalaFehu.

  1. Nice.
    Random thoughts: I find myself in limbo, for lack of a better word, and have for some time, when it comes to spiritual things. There is good and evil, and each has its place. Depending on current situations, I tend to lean to the older ways myself, but nothing concrete. I find current religions to be severely lacking in morals, leadership, etc. There’s always been something that doesn’t sit right with me when it comes to that.
    In asking for guidance, prayer, meditation, ritual; the cost of it, I find is something that Im not willing to bear. Been there, done that.. but I find that shutting my trap and listening to be the hardest. Although, guidance is there. I find it in nature, the little things, a smile, wind blowing etc.
    Sage is relevant. When Im around it, I feel one with nature. I believe incense to help with focusing my thoughts. Cinnamon, clove, are both good, but sage does it for me especially when I can pick it straight off the bush.
    I like the “hidden” site. Thx

    • Thanks. I thpught my first comment would be something about me going to hell. 😳 Your words sound very akin to how I felt for a long time until the need for something spiritual finally set me to substantiate my feelings into a more concrete form. We are all wondering around this universe huh?

Let's get things nice and sparkling clear
