This story is about why we can't have nice things. Life at the cottage is awesome. We are on our 4th generation making memories on the lake. I felt it was time for an UPGRADE. No more watching the other families tool around on their boats, we are doing well, we should get our own … Continue reading I Do Not Deserve to Own a Boat

My very first car was a 1978 red Plymouth Volare Station Wagon that I bought with my own money for $500. I was about to be 16 and about to get my license, at least that was the plan. That car sat in the driveway while I went over every inch of her, tightening bolts … Continue reading Cars I have loved, Part 1

We bought a new car. FLASHING SIGN, STUPID MOVE! My wife was able to get a decent deal through GM's A-1 plan for family members of GM workers. We still paid over $19,000 for a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am. WHY OTHALAFEHU?

The RUNES are the ancient writing system of the Germanic peoples handed down to man from the pagan god Odin.

Othala is the rune for ancestral home, the hearth, and sacred enclosure. Fehu represents our power and possessions gained by own hand, the measure of our earned wealth.

And so my Personal Finance / Net Worth / Dividend Portfolio / Secret Journal was born.
