These are our current paychecks as of 2/6/20. I have been slow to update but the 2/2021 numbers are His $ 89,897 and Hers $ 149,425. In September 2016, I took a different job with less pay but a better climate and more room for salary increases. How do you put a dollar amount on … Continue reading Current PayChecks

It was established by Congress in the Federal Employees' Retirement System Act of 1986 and offers the same types of savings and tax benefits that many private corporations offer their employees under 401(k) plans. TSP includes automatic contributions by the … Continue reading Digging Down on Our TSP

The Finish Line

Where is it I am trying to go exactly? Once I hit 55 and a half, or 62, or 65 I know I am all set. The numbers from My Retirement Master Plan are clear. The real question is how much do I need to stop below the 50 years old mark? 25 Times expected … Continue reading The Finish Line

12/04/201712/31/2017 / othalafehu / 10 Comments

There is a new Budget Graphing tool that is very popular on Reddit's Financial Independence thread right now. It is from SankeyMATIC. I was very drawn to the way it looked so I decided to check it out for myself. After tinkering around with the basic model for a few minutes, I was able to … Continue reading Monthly Budget with SanKey

Steady paychecks with automatic deductions are the easiest way to pay yourself first. This is a breakdown of how much money we save out of each paycheck towards retirement. WHY OTHALAFEHU?

The RUNES are the ancient writing system of the Germanic peoples handed down to man from the pagan god Odin.

Othala is the rune for ancestral home, the hearth, and sacred enclosure. Fehu represents our power and possessions gained by own hand, the measure of our earned wealth.

And so my Personal Finance / Net Worth / Dividend Portfolio / Secret Journal was born.
